Sound Therapies

Safe and Sound Protocol & Rest and Restore Protocol

As a certified provider, I deliver two clinical-grade listening therapies developed by Unyte Health: the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), created by Dr. Stephen Porges on the foundation of his Polyvagal Theory, and its gentle companion for deep rest, the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP).

100,000+people worldwide have experienced the SSP
70+countries where the SSP is used

93%of clients in Unyte's RRP pilot data reported improvement in anxiety symptoms*

The science, in short

Your autonomic nervous system is constantly scanning for signals of safety and danger — in voices, faces and the environment. After difficult experiences, it can get stuck in a defensive state: fight, flight or shutdown. This can show up as anxiety, poor sleep, digestive issues, difficulty concentrating or feeling disconnected from others.

The SSP uses music filtered through a patented algorithm that emphasises the frequencies of the human voice — the sound range our nervous system reads as safety. Listening gradually retunes your system towards the calm, socially engaged state where healing, learning and connection become possible.

How it works in practice

We begin with a conversation and an individual listening plan. You then listen to the programme's music in short, guided sessions — in person in Brașov or remotely from home — while I monitor how your body responds and adjust the pace. Gentle activities such as breathing, drawing or light movement can accompany the listening. The RRP works in a similar way and is often used for deep rest, recovery and regulation of the body's natural rhythms.

It may support you with

  • Trauma history
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Sensory processing and neurodevelopmental differences
  • Chronic pain, fatigue and gut issues
  • Difficulty with focus and connection

Works alongside

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Compassionate Inquiry
  • Family Constellations
  • EMDR, somatic and talk therapies
  • Occupational and sensory integration therapy

*Preliminary pilot data reported by Unyte Health. The SSP and RRP support general health and wellness and are not medical treatments or FDA-approved therapies; results vary from person to person. Please consult your medical provider regarding recovery from health conditions.

About the Compassionate Inquiry method

Compassionate Inquiry is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté. With gentle, compassionate presence, it explores what lies beneath the surface of our stories — the beliefs, emotions and body memories formed in childhood — so that old patterns can be released and we can reconnect with our authentic self. As a Practitioner, Mentor and Facilitator of the method, I work with clients and also support fellow practitioners in their training.

Philosophy

My Philosophy

Everyone deserves to heal and live a fulfilling life. The past might have been tough, but it doesn't define your future. With courage and compassion, we can break free from old patterns and create a brighter tomorrow.

About Me

So, who am I?

Andra Hrițuliac

I am a psychologist, holding a Master's degree in Psychology, a certified practitioner of the Safe and Sound Protocol and the Rest and Restore Protocol, and a Practitioner, Mentor and Facilitator of the Compassionate Inquiry method — bringing formal training and lived experience into my work.

As a child, I felt a profound connection to the world around me. I remember weaving intricate poems about consciousness for my family, though I couldn't quite grasp the word itself. It was as if I held a secret understanding of humanity, a perspective unseen by those around me. While the words of those early poems have faded, the core of what I felt remains: a sense that consciousness is the nurturing source of all life.

Over time, this connection dimmed, only to be reignited by the arrival of my daughters. These precious souls became my teachers, illuminating the shadows of my own childhood. In their light, I discovered that healing and growth are possible at any age.

We often carry the weight of childhood wounds, allowing them to shape our adult lives. But with courage and compassion, we can break free from these chains.

Through my own journey to rediscover my authentic self I've learned that while we can't erase the pain of abuse, molestation, or other traumas, we can heal the wounds they leave behind.

Having walked through life's darkest valleys alone, I understand the profound isolation and longing for being seen and heard. This experience fuels my commitment to creating a safe, empathetic space for others to embark on their own healing journeys.

With heartfelt presence and unwavering compassion, I accompany my clients as they navigate their challenges. It is my privilege to witness their strength and resilience, offering support and understanding every step of the way.

My vision is to foster a world filled with compassion, acceptance, and healing, where every individual feels Seen, Heard, and Connected.
